bookstore closing

Barnes & Noble now has an exclusive lease as the only bookstore allowed in Clackamas Town Center Mall, forcing the Borders Express to close its doors. What, they can't stand a little competition? Everything at the Border's Express in Clackamas Town Center is now at least 40% off 'til April 21 so instead of walking out with the book I went in for - which they didn't have - I walked out with over a dozen, including some I didn't know were out!
John Dunning has a new book in his Cliff Janeway series: The Bookwoman's Last Fling
Garth Nix's Sir Thursday is out in paperback since the hardcover release of Lady Friday
I picked up the first three books in yet another new series for me. Charmed to Death, Witch Way to Murder, and The Trouble with Witches by Shirley Damsgaard feature a librarian with psychic powers in the Ophelia and Abby mystery series
Young Warriors Stories of Strength is a fantasy anthology edited by Tamora Pierce and Josepha Sherman which actually came out a couple years ago but I haven't read it. It includes stories by Doranna Durgin and S. M. Stirling neither of whom I associate with YA novels.
Powers of Detection Stories of Mystery & Fantasy is an anthology edited by Dana Stabenow and includes stories by Donna Andrews, Charlaine Harris, Anne Perry, & Sharon Shinn.

That's corporate America for you. I'll take government bureaucracy anyday. Thank goodness for libraries.

Behind every great politician, there's a large corporation making the decisions that best serve them.
