Dates

Would you buy a loaf of bread that had Best by Feb 30 coded on it?
Someone sure wasn't thinking when they edited the codes last night.

I had a box from Amazon waiting for me again today but it seems that the Tamora Pierce book is now not coming out until the end of April. :( Aargh, it was supposed to be here last month and I've been waiting and waiting and they did that to the Rett MacPherson book too though I just got an email that it's in the mail! lol
No cheese with that whine and I've been rereading David Weber's Honor Harrington series anyway instead of any of the many books in my tbr piles.

Is it wrong that I don't even look at the dates on the bread when I buy it? Am I harming myself and others?

I don't think many people do check dates on many of the products they buy. I usually don't. Outdated bread you can still use for toast, stuffing, bread pudding, or feeding the ducks! Outdated meat, on the other hand, can kill you. Come to think of it though, I believe bread mold is a source of penicillin so if you're allergic to that it's probably better not to take any chances eating moldy bread.
The stores are supposed to take past dated items off the shelf though things can be easily overlooked.

Urk, I must have misread it when I saw it. I had it on my list as Jan 29, 2008. Amazon now says April 28, 2009.
