First day back at work and everyone has parking passes stuck on their window. Yeah, they've done this before and didn't do anything with it but I got one anyway...under the state parks pass. My windshield is going to be so covered in parking passes one day that I won't be able to see out to drive! And speaking of driving, have you ever spaced out a drive home before? I remember pulling onto the highway and stopping for one light. Suddenly I'm 6 miles down the road and half a mile past where I usually turn off to go home.

Biked down to the Library for the first book in a new series featuring stuntwoman Darcy Lott. Susan Dunlap now has a fourth series out! I haven't seen anything from her since the late '90s. Fiona Apple's Extraordinay Machine CD was also waiting for me.

What's deadheading?
If you're a trucker, you're traveling empty, without a load
If you're a gardener, you're snipping dead flowers off the bush
If you're a music lover, a deadhead is a Grateful Dead fan(atic)

License plates seen:
DOGS VW, GDLIFE, ANNA SK, DNOT H8, RR RFN (say what?)

I space out all the time! I drive past our house, I make wrong turns... The other day I did exactly that on our way home from Fargo, a drive, mind you, that I make almost every single day. Z thought for sure I had done it on purpose and I almost didn't have the heart to tell him that I'm just clumsy and forgetful! We had an adventure, anyway.

Driving seems to become automatic on routes taken the most. It's like an autopilot, so much of your attention is on something else.
I haven't accidently passed my house yet - purposefully yes, when I thought I was being followed a couple times (and it's not paranoia when they follow you around two separate blocks) but I have found the store I was going to in my rearview mirror a time or three. :)
