Talk about a bad tank of gas

It cost him $76 a gallon because it's against the law to pump your own gas in this state. The gas attendant put regular gas into a diesel tank and the station manager tells the truck owner to take the cost up with his insurance company, not the gas station.
You can read the story here.
You hear of so many frivolous lawsuits that have been awarded to people who did it to themselves and this one probably won't even go to court. The insurance company, after the deductible, will elect to cover the cost and then raise everybody's rates.

Unbelievable. Those attendants never seemed properly trained to me. They aren't like the old full-service station attendants, who actually knew how to check fluids and tire pressure.

BTW, I clicked on the article link for finding cheap gas prices in Portland. It looks like you should be stopping at Kwik Gas. :)

They don't even wash your windshield any more!

Yeah, I saw that. It would take 1.5 gallons to get there and back so I'm actually saving money by not buying the cheapest gas in town. :)
