I hate mornings like this

A 12.5 hour day yesterday and I have to be back to work within 11.5 hours of leaving last night didn't leave much time to unwind and relax after work before getting some sleep to get up and do it all over again. In fact, I doubt I got much more than 3 or 4 hours sleep and we've got a thousand boxes on order today which means more ot this afternoon.
Once again I'm sluggish and stiff and don't want to go to work this morning...just like last week. :(

I don't know how you exist on four hours of sleep. I don't know how I exist on four hours of sleep either.

Strangely enough, my now retired foreman alluded to the answer to that very question. He told me tonight that it's all in my head. Hahaha, no, he said that when he was working he'd plan on getting sleep because he had to be up at a certain time, not because he was tired. Now that he's got a more flexible schedule, he's finding out that 4 hours sleep is enough for him. Part of it's due to a lot less stress and he knows if he gets tired he has the time to take a nap.
I know when I worked swing shift (over a decade ago now - my how the time flies!) I'd stay up 'til I was tired and usually get up within 4 to 6 hours without having to worry about being late for work and I'd feel rested and alert. Not sluggish and tired like I do when I go to bed before I'm really tired but knowing that I have to get up early for work.
Does that make sense?

I think I do understand. If I could sleep whenever I chose, I think I would feel a lot better about the quality of my sleep. It's not choosing that makes me feel like a zombie!

Today is my Day in My Life post. Are you going to do one? I would love to see where you work!

Exactly. I think a 28 hour day would be perfect. Up for 20 hours and then I'd have no problem sleeping 8!

The bakery rule is no cameras allowed so I don't usually carry one to work. I can get one of the building and I do have another one with a Pennsylvania(! :D) story attached to it. :) I'll try for Saturday. :)

This would have been a good day for a Day in the Life! Usually I have a very boring schedule but today...oh my. Strapped to a chair with my mouth wide open as Carol grabs the metal Instruments of Torture and proceeds to...clean my teeth. Yeah, the semi-annual trip to the dentist office and unfortunately, I've been a bad, bad boy. I have to go back tomorrow. :(
Okay, I wasn't strapped to the very nice massaging dentist chair and Carol's metal Instruments of Torture were only used after her ultrahydrovibrating waterpick had loosened everything up. The real torture comes in when she asks you questions you can't answer because she's got poky metal things stuck in your mouth. Isn't it funny how they all seem to do that? :)

Aww. :( I HATE the dentist. How did they talk you in going back the next day???

You should do your day in the life tomorrow, then.

I have just one small, itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny, little cavity. (I hope you weren't thinking yellow polka dot bikini 'cause that's just so definitely not me) lol
Soonest taken care of, soonest forgotten, and less time to worry about it!

A Day in the Life on my Day Off, huh?

Actually, I want to see how bread is made.

Here's an old, old picture off their website. They still have the conveyors up near the ceiling to cool the products before wrapping them but machines are now used to pull the buns and bread off the pans and onto a conveyor to be sliced and wrapped.
