Book purchase

I just bought #3 of Irene Radford's Stargods series: The Dragon's Revenge.

I'm currently reading The Extremes by Christopher Priest, Califia's Daughters by Leigh Richards & #19Amendment of Life by Catherine Aird. I'm also getting the house ready for Christmas which is drastically cutting into my reading time!

yey for C. Priest... are you enjoying it so far? I haven't read this one yet...

I've just bought Fritz Leiber "Swords and Deviltry"... shame on me, I've never read anything written by him... yes, I know... how terrible lol! at least that's what I've been told, I'll soon enough find out for myself if it's true... but this better be good because I've paid it 16 euros!!! (it's because it's a brand new translation and all so *shrugs*)

I've also purchased "Fiction I". A french editor publishes this "anthology" two or three time a year: it's a actually a collection of the best (or at least those *they* found were the best) short stories from the American magazine "Fantasy Science Fiction". There's a short story by Jeffrey Ford I've been wanting to read for a very long time... it's entitled "Creation" and was published back in 2002.
I know very little of this author Jeffrey Ford but I like what he does. "The portrait of Mrs. Charbuques" was very intriguing and somewhat original. have you ever tried anything written by him?

Yes, I am. The only problem I have is his skipping back and forth in time. I can understand why he does it but jumping back and forth bugs me! I’m hoping that is not his usual writing style but is limited to this book. Do you remember if he did this in The Separation? I’m having a little trouble differentiating between reality and virtual reality also...um - in the book lol! I’ve ended up several times going back and rereading several pages to figure out what was going on. I think mostly, however, that this is due to my starting & stopping instead of reading straight thru like I’m usually able to do.

I haven’t read any of his either!

no he didn't jmp back and forth through time in the Separation... however, you do have trouble differenciating fiction from reality...

I've read a review saying that the Separation was slightly under Prestige... so can't wait to read it...

It's really no trouble at all. Fiction is everything that happens after I get to work, reality sets in once I get home! lol

I've got 2 other books in queue before I can start The Prestige. It looks like they're going to make it into a film. It's set to start shooting sometime in 2006.
