book purchase

I just bought 5 books today but 2 are Christmas presents; so my three books are:
#4 Wolf Captured by Jane Lindskold, #3 The Firebird's Vengeance by Sarah Zettel, and Star Trek: The New Frontier: After the Fall by Peter David.

I'm currently reading Christopher Priest's The Prestige and #1 Death in the Cards by Sharon Short.

Re: Sarah Zettel
I haven't read any of her books until now either. My understanding was that this was supposed to be a trilogy, so I waited until I had all 3 books before starting them! Now it looks like it might be an open series.
I just started A Sorcerer's Treason (a little over 100 pages into it) and it's pretty good. I've put the other two books I'm reading (only a chapter or two into them anyway) on hold to read the Sarah Zettel book!
It caught my interest right from the start and has me seriously speculating on all the various ways the plot could go. She has definitely caught me by surprise a time or two by a twist in the storyline that I hadn't expected!
The story starts with Bridget as a lighthouse keeper in 1899 on Lake Superior. One night she rescues a strangely dressed man who has come to her world to take her back to his land, Isavalta, because she has strong magical abilities and will be able to help save his kingdom after she’s been trained in the use of her magic.

Re: Sarah Zettel
Reminds of Donaldson's "The Mirror of her Dreams"... I hope the main character is less annoying than Terisa! But I've been told she gets better in the two following books...
