The joys of owning a home

I turned off the shower this morning only to feel cold drops of water hitting my head. Got the ladder and roofing tar out, climbed up on the cold, wet roof and spread it around the (hopefully) shower vent. With any luck, that'll solve the leak.

I need to finish up on the kitchen:
I need to get a metal strip for the top of the backsplash, build a shelf unit to the right of the window, and get the microhood put up. Oh and build a pantry for the far corner.

I've also started working on my den downstairs.
I still have several boards to cut to size before putting them up, molding to get and stain, and the curtains to put back up. Then I can move the computer, desk, and files down there, cleaning up the living room a bit. And with an added exercise bonus of running up and down the stairs every time I want to use the computer!

Once I get these done I can think about more bookshelves, desk, headboard, and hall table!

Someone had to do it and we took a vote: me, myself, or I! I lost. Next time it's me's turn!

Yay, fun! That's the kind of stuff I love about owning your own place! I mean - the leak, yes, it sucks that you have to fix it yourself, but it got fized TODAY instead of having to wait until next week when they could send a maintenance guy your way!

Plus you can put holes in the wall to hang pictures or put hooks in the ceiling rafters to hang those swinging chairs.
