I always think of Portland author April Henry and her Claire Montrose mystery series whenever I see license plates you have to decipher. Claire works at the custom license dept of the Oregon DMV and every chapter heading is a license number to figure out. Anywhoo, recently I saw a truck with the license: FORRR. I'm guessing he's a golfer! *grin* The one I saw today took me a few seconds to figure out: WLCRD4.
That was seen on the way home from AAA where I picked up some information on Yosemite National Park for my vacation plan this year. She said that there are ghost towns along the Gold Rush Trail and places you can stop to try your hand a gold panning. I've got a bunch of books and maps to go through and plan where all I'm going.
