Weather forecasting

I wanted to go hiking this weekend. (today or tomorrow. Yeah, I have strange weekends!) Checking the weather forecast last night: AM showers on Tuesday and Sunny on Wednesday so I stayed up 'til the wee hours of the morning watching Stargate SG-1 and playing around on the computer. Woke up to AM sunshine. Uh huh, does this mean it's going to rain tomorrow? Isn't it funny how they can get the weather right during the summer - sunny and warm, sunny and hot, sunny and very hot, but you throw a few rain clouds into the mix and their forecasts are all off.
I'll still go tomorrow and just be my usual lazy self today! Though I may go up and walk along the Oregon City Bluffs

And since it seems like I forgot to click on the Post to katsurian button this morning, I might as well post the photos here too!
Willamette Falls

The Oregon City Municipal Elevator run by the Transportation Dept

or you can take the stairs that curve around and still end up at the top almost 2 blocks away!

I thought of you and sillyliss when I saw this one, zebulen, and just had to take it! ☺

So pretty. I like the last picture, too. Do we seem extremely hardcore? LOL!

You said it, not me. I would have said you definitely have an opinion on the subject and don't mind telling it like you see it! ☺ *grin*
Now if you were using his lawn signs like fence posts...(shhh. James, don't give them any ideas! lol)

Someone must be hoarding his lawn signs because we can't get one!

Nice pictures. Did they build that elevator specifically for viewing the falls?

Someone else must have had the fence idea :(

No. The other 70% of the city is up there. The employment agency, post office, library, grocery stores, etc. It's a long walk around or a short drop down The Bluffs to the river.

Did you know that it requires about a thousand calculations to give the weather forecast for just one day in advance? :P Poor meteorologists, they always get the blame, when their job is actually really hard! :P

Those are some pretty pictures there :)

I did not know that. I know that when the barometer drops rain's a'coming and when the barometer rises sunshine's on it's way. Well, I do know a little more than that :D
They've also got computers to do their calculations for them. It's their interpretation of that data that seems to be the error and they don't seem to change their formulations from past mistaken predictions.
I just hope they are right and it's sunny tomorrow. I'd like to hike around Horsetail Falls.
