The fifth book "The Swallow Murders" in the Demary Jones series by E. L. Larkin came today. Um, yesterday since its after midnight.
I'm currently reading #16 "After Effects" by Catherine Aird & #2 "Date with a Perfect Dead Man" by Annie Griffin.
I finished #16 "After Effects" by Catherine Aird. I rate it a 6.
When Mrs. Galloway, who suffers from heart disease, finally passes away it comes as no shock to the staff at Berebury Hospital. Abel Granger's family had also been long prepared for his death that same morning. So why then has Mrs. Galloway's son called in Detective Inspector Sloan to investigate, and why is Abel Granger's doctor so uncomfortable?
The only thing that seems to link the two patients is the Cardigan Protocol, a drug trial being carried out for Gilroy's, a pharmaceutical company. This, along with the unexplained disappearance of the doctor in charge of the drug trials and the surprising break-in of the Gilroy's headquarters by a group of animal rights activists, lead D. I. Sloan to suspect that something much more sinister than coincidence is afoot.
I'm not sure what I'll be starting next. It'll be one of three books:
1. #5 "The Swallow Murders" by E. L. Larkin which just came in the mail yesterday. I've already got her last one "Die In Texas" so I could finish off the series.
2. #1 "The Retrieval Artist and Other Stories" by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. I have all 5 books in the series, was just waiting for the first one.
3. #17 "Stiff News" by Catherine Aird. I have 5 more books to finish off her series to date.
I just put three of my records on computer as .mp3's so that I can put them on CD whenever I want or an iPod if I get one. Only a couple hundred to go! Plus the ones mom wants me to put on for her, and she's got more than I do. I told her I could show her how, she says show dad! Like he's got the time either! :) Well, a record a week would be 52 records a year which puts mine done in what, 4 years for 200 records? LOL
Lit a couple cinnamon scented candles last night and my house smells wonderful. My desk and surrounding area is cleaned off & I'm headed out for the garage to do some work now. I got quite a bit done last night. Even grabbed a two hour nap on the couch.
With all the cleaning up I did today: office, living room, kitchen & garage; you'd think I could have remembered to clean out the front gutter. Now that I have my own waterfall right over the front door, I remember the gutter's plugged! Just like the roof don't leak when it don't rain!
I have 2 piles in the garage: one to goodwill and one to the dump. Before I go to the dump, I need to prune the shrubs in front. But it's supposed to rain for the next ten days. At least, maybe more, they only had a ten day forecast.
I stopped by the library and picked up the three books on hold for book of the month clubs. Now I just need to start multitasking again. I used to be able to read a book, watch TV and listen to the radio all at the same time. I can't do that anymore! I'll be happy if I can record some of my records to the computer while reading. I'll edit them into .mp3's later.
I's just that every ten minutes or so I'll have to stop reading to turn the record over.
