December books

Carolyn G. Hart Merry, Merry Ghost This is #2 in her Bailey Ruth Raeburn series. Bailey Ruth is a ghost who works for Heaven's Department of Good Intentions and is sent back to Adelaide, Oklahoma to help people in various difficulties. Quirky and humorous once you get going. I rated it a 4.

Leslie Caine Holly and Homicide This is #7 in the Domestic Bliss series. Interior designer Erin Gilbert and business rival Steve Sullivan in Crestview, Colorado. Rated 4.

J. A. Jance Cruel Intent This is #4 in her Alison Reynolds series. Alison is a former television newscaster turned blogger. Rated 5.

Tim Myers Reservations for Murder This is #2 in the Lighthouse Inn series. Alex Winston runs an Inn and lighthouse in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains. If you want to know what a lighthouse is doing in the mountains - read the books! ;) Rated 4.

Jeanne C. Stein Retribution This is #5 in the Anna Strong, Vampire series. Anna is a bounty hunter who was turned into a vampire in the first book. Now she's learning to deal with the all those consequences without giving up her "former" life. Rated 4.

Kim Harrison White Witch, Black Curse #7 in The Hollows series. Rachel Morgan, witch and bounty hunter, along with her partners, vampire Ivy Tamwood and pixie Jenks, work in Cincinatti, Ohio making the world a safer place for everybody. Rated 5.

Ilona Andrews Magic Bites, Magic Burns, Magic Strikes These are the first 3 books in the Kate Daniels series. Kate is a mercenary working in Atlanta, Georgia. When the magic flares, technology crumbles. But it's a balancing act and as the magic fades, Kate's hired to deal with some of the not-so-mythological beings that are left behind. Rated 3, 4, and 5.

Science Fiction
David Weber Torch of Freedom This is a complicated series to number. It's #2 in the Torch spinoff to the Honor Harrington series but is also #15 to the whole Honorverse. And that's NOT including the 4 books of short stories! It's also one of my favorite series. Rated 5.
