Smugglers Cove by Marianne MacDonald

I just finished Smugglers Cove by Marianne MacDonald. I rate it an 8. It's a young adult mystery published back in 1957 in England. Marianne MacDonald is the author of the Dido Hoare mystery series about an antiquarian book shop owner who gets mixed up in murder.
Smugglers Cove is about the story of three young people and their horses in a small town in New Brunswick who long for excitement and adventure to enliven their boring summer. Little do they realize what they're in for when the see a mysterious light flash from sea and answered on the shore.

I'm currently reading #3 The Soul Weaver by Carol Berg.
