Falling Free by Lois McMaster Bujold

I just finished the first book (in chronological order, not the first one published) by Lois McMaster Bujold in her Miles Vorkosigan series. I rate this one a 9. (BTW, he's not in this one!)
Leo Graf was just your average highly effiecient engineer: mind your own business, fix what's wrong and move on to the next job. Everything neat and according to spec, just the way he liked it. But that all changed on his assignment to the Cay Habitat. Could you just stand there and allow the exploitation of hundreds of helpless children merely to enhance the bottom line of a heartless mega-corporation?
Leo Graf adopted 1000 quaddies - now all he had to do was teach them to be free.

A great story, which is what I was afraid of - now I have to read the whole series! :-)
There's several series that have been highly recommended to me but I didn't want to start them because there are too many books in the series (16 in this one). This was one but since the book for March is the third book in the series, I figured I might as well read them all!
