Chili today and hot tamale

Yep, you heard right, that 83 degrees (28C) we had today is going to seem chilly come this weekend with temperatures soaring 20 degrees above average. Now that my 2 days off are over, the heat wave begins. One station says 104 degrees (40C) on Sunday. When we hit triple digits at the end of June, Jeff was telling me it had dropped down to 114 degrees next to the oven at 6 AM when he was leaving. I'm not looking forward to facing the bakery this weekend.
My new icon says it all...let's go to the beach!!!!

You think that's hot.
*rolls eyes*

I'll admit it's much colder than that 400 degree (204C) oven but I'm not standing inside it either. Not too many days around here hit in the upper 80's (30C).
I take it you regularly see the thermometer climb into the red zone?

If by regularly you mean on a summerly basis, yes.
Last year, we had four days in a row that were > 42 Celsius.
Heheheh, enjoy your heat.
I'll enjoy the 12 Celsius (and yes, by American standards that's not cold at all. But we've broken cold records this year)
*puts hands out to heater, teeth chattering*

I need to move to Australia for the summer...since you have the nice cool weather now! 12C may be a little chilly but it sure beats the 32C+ that we usually only get 1 to 2 weeks (maybe 3) out of the year. I think this is our third week so far this summer and we haven't even reached August yet and that's the hot month.
Grab a quilt, curl up in the chair next to the fire with a mug of hot chocolate and the new Scott Westerfeld book!

Oh, are you talking about 'The Last Days'?
I don't think it's available here *scowls*
It's so weird *shakes head* the whole seasonal-reversal-between-hemispheres... I just can't beat into my head that December is cold up there! I couldn't imagine a cold December!
Heheh, I will enjoy by 12C. Because, heck, it's better than subzero.

Nonononono. You said in one of your last posts that you were really enjoying a Scott Westerfeld book...Risen Empire, or something like that. That's the one I meant!
The Last Days is listed on Amazon as being released Sept. 7, 2006 so there is still over a month to wait for that one.
No white Christmas? Or is that coming up in a couple of days? Do you have the Christmas in July celebrations?
It had dropped down to 37C in the building as I was leaving work this morning.
Warm enough so that you don't need gloves and can easily turn the pages!

Oh. I WAS enjoying it. Now it's just getting boring.
He's using all of these physics terms and it's boring me to tears. Even though we're in the middle of a space battle.
I'm seriously debating abandoning it because I have heaps of other things to read that won't bore me.
Hurrah! September! *grins*
I've never had a white Christmas. The closest that we've ever come was a horrible muggy windy day. *rolls eyes* Of course we don't have Christmas in July. July is tax time. July also happens to be the middle of the year... sort of. What's the point of having Christmas in July??? What's there to look forward to at the end of the year then?
Heheh. 37 in the building. What I wouldn't give for a heat wave right now. Today was acutally quite nice, sunny and practically no wind, so I spent most of the day outside attempting to fix up my horrible pallor. Apparently now I'm two shades darker! Hurrah!
We had glove-needy-coldness a couple of days ago. Brr!!
