95 days 'til Christmas!!

I got a little pickled after spending 2 hours in the outdoor hot tub this morning during the rain storm. Then the sun came out this afternoon and a couple hours on the beach dried me out completely. Can you say sunburn? Nope, that's what the hat was for! :D Came close though.

Finished Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison last night and I see why so many people have been absolutely raving about the series. I'm not a big fan of paranormal, witches, vampires, etc. books but enjoyed the book and am looking forward to getting the other three books in the series to read.

Five days of vacation left. That's too soon, I'm not bored yet.

My home away from home and a view of the Pacific from the beach.

It has been raining the last couple days so I haven't done much more beach walking until today. I ended up walking 10 miles of beach, won a table tennis tournament within the campground, and finished another book.
I saw some herons mixed in with the seagulls on the beach and some seals out beyond the breakers.
I've gotten a couple emails from Amazon and BAMM saying my books have been shipped; a couple from BAMM that Amazon still has listed as preorders until Oct. 1. I like it!!! So I'll have the Marie Brennan and Marie V. Snyder books waiting for me when I get home, along with William Tapply and Vicki Stiefel! :D What a surprise!

Day 3

Walking through Lincoln City the other day, I'm seeing signs with a wave on them with a little arrow pointing East, towards the hills. The sign says: Tsunami Evacuation.
Here's your sign!!

Managed the 3.5 mile hike down the beach to the river. About 1.5 miles down the beach I realize that there is someone a quarter mile back following me. Yes, that's sounds a little paranoid; they're just hiking the same direction I am. After all, there's only two directions they could go. Looking around as I'm walking down the beach, this person is still back there almost to the end of the beach. when I get down to the river, take some pictures, and look back in the direction I came from, there's no one there. If I was that close to the end of the beach, I'd go clear to the end just so I could say I did! Here's where it gets a little spooky. Heading back and yes, that would be another 3.5 miles, i get to where the bird sanctuary starts (about a mile from the end of the beach), look back, and there's that person behind me. They weren't on the beach or I would have passed them so where'd they come from? Getting to the first house - and beach access from the road - I look back again and they're gone. There wasn't any way off the beach.

Learned to play Chickenfoot last night. It's a type of dominoes game. I hadn't expected to stay up at the clubhouse that long and had quite an interesting time walking back to the camper in the dark without a flashlight.

A very nice view of the Milky Way and so many more stars than you can see with all city lights. Absolutely spectacular.

At The Beach

A 3 mile hike down the beach, 3 games of mini-golf (tied 2 and won one - or lost it since I was the playing both sides), hikes down some of the nature trails around the campground and I still managed to read a book, Firestorm by Rachel Caine, before dinner!
The back of the book says "A kick-butt heroine who will appeal strongly to fans of Tanya Huff, Kelley Armstrong, and Charlaine Harris." Two out of three I already read. Guess I'll have to look up a Kelley Armstrong book!
Now, it's off to dinner and maybe relax in the hot tub later this evening. Yeah, it's a nice campground! :D
